19th century, hexagonal shaped porcelain bowl, hand painted in blue with medallions of frontal facing dragons curled around a flaming pearl to each of the eight sides, the characters "Made under the reign of Thieu Tri" are evenly inscribed around the body, ruyi borders to rim and foot rim.




2 1/2 x 5 in.

This bowl is from a select group of porcelains ordered by Emperor Thieu Tri (1841-47) from kilns in Jiangxi, China for his own palace table service.

Very good condition; very slight fleabite to rim.
