Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Detroit, Michigan, circa 1910, carved and painted wood, glass eyes, branded DOUBLEDAY on the bottom.

Length 12 in.

Produced from the late 19th to early 20th century. These decoys are characterized by their utilitarian design, aimed at durability and affordability for hunters. The painted eyes, as opposed to glass eyes found on higher-grade models, reflect their simpler craftsmanship. Despite their modest features, they retain realistic hand-painted details, capturing the essence of various bird species.

Original paint with some paint loss from use, age check in the bottom, hit by shot.
