Sawyer was an exceptional market hunter and decoy maker. His decoys are often mistakenly identified as the work of Alvirah Wright. It is quite possible that his work influenced Alvirah Wright. This example is from his early market hunting rig.

Original paint worn to bare wood, hit by shot, neck cracks have been stabilized.
