Meiji period (1868-1912), circa 1900, black lacquer carved wood coffee table with mother of pearl inlay on four shaped legs, with glass top set over blue lacquered ground with high-relief carved bone inlay grouping of branches, flowers, a bird, and a butterfly, signed with artist's mark in rectangular cartouche.
