From the Estate of the late Susan C. Frankenberg, Hillsborough, North Carolina An unusual form constructed from very dense heavy wood.
Old surface with some staining and inconsistencies; the slat lid with holes from previous mounts and area of wear to top edge; interior with left valance drawer guides missing causing the drawer to be loose; one missing interior pull; the left column document drawer is not moving - possibly a drawer but presently thought to be a stabilized faux column panel; drawers with later pulls and plugged locks; other imperfections commensurate with age.
