Late 19th or early 20th century, each woven basket consisting of two tiers with a cover, a carrying handle wraps around each basket secured to the sides of the lowest box, one has a handle that is carved with bats and Buddhist treasure motifs and features decorative metal embellished hardware, this same basket has an inscription to the top.

Crack along underside of lid, some scattered scuffs to weave on handle and lid a wood throughout, and small areas of verdigris to brass mounts of taller chest; the shorter with minor signs of wear and age.
