Ryugi Taira (b. 1960) is a Japanese fine‑arts photographer whose practice centers on rendering delicate and ephemeral natural scenes—especially dandelions—through platinum prints on washi paper. Drawing on a background in both commercial and artistic photography, he works with traditional materials such as gampi‑washi and dedicates time‑intensive lacquer broadening to his pieces, resulting in works that evoke both fragility and endurance.
