A Set of Four Chinese Painted and Gilt Carved Panels

Late 19th century, four carved wood panels with gilt and paint decoration, with crushed stone addition to pigments, each with a thick border surrounding carved recessed relief scenes of noble figures, each has a hanging wire to reverse, one with red wax export seal to reverse.

Each 10 1/4 x 8 1/2 x 1 1/4 in.

Some losses to wood on edges; two with cracks and loss to wood frame; scattered discoloration and loss to surface pigments; rubbing to faces with some loss of detail.
