Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, a very fine lacquer panel screen, brilliantly decorated on both sides, the front side applied with an assortment of jade, hardstone, soapstone, bone, mother of pearl, coral, and gilt bronze creating a collage of scholarly and precious objects, the reverse side of the panel has an extremely fine painted landscape with temples and villas amidst billowing mountains in shades of black and gold against the red lacquer ground, panel is set into a carved rosewood frame with key motif and scrolling floral carving, the framed panel rests in a beautifully carved rosewood trestle formed stand with peaches and peony blossoms.

32 1/2 x 36 x 12 1/4 in.

Artorient, Hong Kong, purchased in November 1985.

Very good estate condition; some very light wear and scratches.
