20th century, wood yokeback armchairs with curved back splat, arms with curved support, short eared apron under the seat, circular column legs, front stretcher with square molding to inside edge and lower to the ground then side stretchers, presented together with custom cushions.

Each 46 x 25 x 22 in., Seat height 19 1/2 in.

Purchased in Singapore.

This style of chair became known as an Official's Hat Chair because of its resemblance to the wing-like brimmed hats worn by early government officials in China.

Good estate condition; very tight shrinkage crack to seat panels, one chair with looseness in arm joints; minor joint separation to legs.
