A Set of Four Chinese Carved Lattice Wood Door Panels

19th or 20th century, a set of four carved wood doors that would have originally graced the exterior of a courtyard home, recessed panels at top and bottom, the ones at bottom are relief carved with archaic vessels and vases filled with flowers, the reticulated window section is elegantly carved with Chinese auspicious motifs such as bats, double coins, ryui and wan patterns, the openwork sections of the doors allowed for light to enter the residence and to cast beautiful shadows within the room.
