20th century, wood dengguayi (lamp hanger) yokeback side chairs with curved back splat, inset rattan seat, continuous openwork humpback style apron under seat, circular column legs, tiered stretchers with front stretchers lower to the ground.

The classic simplicity of design and material of this chair exhibits the natural beauty of the wood and minimalism elegance. Side chairs were often made as sets in China and placed throughout the house against the walls until needed for guests.

Very good estate condition; a small chip to front left corner of seat frame and slight nick to mid back of one chair.
