Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before 1900, carved and painted wood.

Length 15.5 in.

One of the more prominent and often emulated historical styles is the one attributed to John Blair, Sr. (1842-1928). Blair carved decoys in the late 1800s along the Delaware River. This pintail exhibits all of the Blair characteristics such as tight construction joints, flowing lines, and bold sculpture.
