Churches Island, North Carolina, circa 1920s, carved and painted wood.
This decoy probably began its life as a canvasback and was reshaped later into a pintail. There was a known small rig of Rufus Roberts decoys which were reshaped into pintails and widgeon. It is not known if Rufus made these modifications or another guide.
