Qing dynasty (1644-1912), late 19th or early 20th century, kesi embroidered panels on silk of auspicious landscapes with birds and flowers, the panels are enclosed beneath glass so visible from both sides, framed in rosewood or huanghali wood frames with pierced upper panels depicting stylized dragons and flaming pearls, and pierced fretwork base on raised feet.

69.75 x 63 in.

From the Collection of a Lady, Martinsville, Virginia

The hardwood frame is carved to be viewed from both sides, and the kesi embroidery panels are done so finely they as well can be viewed from either direction presented in clear glass covered panels.

The silk panels are pretty well preserved behind the glass; however, there are some slight areas of seam separations; the wood frame with some minor denting; overall good presentation; silk panels not examined outside of the glass.
