This dowitcher carved by Issac Austin has great form and remains in remarkable condition even though it is roughly 150 years old. This shorebird hunting rig was carefully stored in a wood box for several generations in the old Austin homestead house in Hatteras Village. Issac was the grandfather of John Austin, the famous decoy carver from Corolla.
