Shepard Hardware Co., "Punch and Judy" Mechanical Coin Bank

Buffalo, NY, designed by Peter Adams and Charles Shepard, patented 1884, painted cast iron, this version with small size letters to top, to use bank: pull the knob on the right side to bring Judy's plate forward, place coin on the plate, press the lever below the knob to send Punch lurching forward brandishing a club as Judy deposits the coin into the bank, stamped "BUFFALO, N.Y. U.S.A / PATd in U.S. JULY 15. '84 / AND JULY 22. '84 / RE- ENGLAND / No. 104-3" to underside.
