A Very Fine Chinese Eight Panel Painted Lacquer Screen

Qianlong period (1736-95), a very well carved eight panel screen lacquered dark reddish brown and painted with bright pigments, especially nice are the blues and greens, the front side of the screen has an immense and very detailed military campaign scene in a mountainous landscape, a gold chilong dragon border graces the edges, the reverse side with a lush garden landscape with lotus pond populated with a myriad of birds and flora, centered a pair of phoenix birds and a stunning peacock.
