Reginaphone Music Box for 15.5 Inch Discs

Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Early 1900s, serial number 1500414, the brass bedplate hosts a double-comb with 77 teeth on each side and is stamped with a patent date of Nov. 21, 1899; the mahogany case is distinguished from the norm by having a serpentine lid, base and box. Included is one disc of Wagner's "Wedding-song" from "Lohengrin" (1036).

13 x 22 x 19.5 in.

Curiously, this instrument is fitted with a metal post that originally supported a disc record player with an arm for the reproducer.

Plays well; some old abrasions and light scratches to the box as expected.
