J & E Stevens Co., Hall's Excelsior Mechanical Coin Bank with Poster

Cromwell, Connecticut, patented December 21, 1869, designed by John D. Hall, painted cast iron, to use bank: pull the knob by the door of the bank and a painted wooden cashier will appear at the top, place a coin on their desk and they will deposit the coin into the bank and disappear, auction label affixed to underside (5 1/2 x 4 x 4 in.). This lot includes a framed photographic poster in colors of vintage coin banks from Bill Bertoia Auctions, framed below glass (Frame dimensions 29 1/2 x 25 in.).
