Shamsian furniture refers to the luxury collection by British designer Bethan Gray, created in collaboration with master Omani craftsman Mohammad Reza Shamsian, blending ancient Islamic craft techniques like 16th-century marquetry with contemporary design inspired by Omani culture, architecture (Nizwa Fort), and seafaring (Dhow boats). The pieces feature intricate inlays of brass, paua shell, and colored veneers, preserving traditional skills by bringing them to a global market through modern aesthetics.
