Early to mid 20th century, the first a large tombstone shaped ink stone with shaped area to be used as a brush washer towards top, incised with Chinese inscriptions, presented in a fitted rosewood box (DOA 2 1/2 x 8 x 12 in.)(good estate condition), the second ink stone with low relief dragon heads to top, fitted wood cover to top and bottom (DOA 1 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 7 1/2 in.)(with some rubbing and wear, area of discoloration to inkstone lower area), and the third decorated with scenic mountain landscape in relief to front of the box, interior with a large lotus together with a Buddhist treasure scroll motif (DOA 1 1/2 x 4 x 6 1/2 in.)(some rubbing and discoloration to interior; some small nicks and losses to decoration on the cover).
