Scottish Rosewood Banjo Barometer, Signed S. P. Cohen

Mid-19th century, scrollwork surround case with high grade rosewood veneers, featuring an engraved silvered 10-inch dial signed "S. P. COHEN / 124 Buchanan St. / GLASGOW" behind glass within a brass bezel beneath an encased mercury thermometer with engraved silvered dial, apron with carved setting key, and the verso cistern with mercury tubing intact.

39 1/2 x 12 1/2 x 2 1/2 in.

Some surface marks and a few tight cracks to veneers; unknown if in proper working condition. Please note that due to the presence of mercury, this item cannot be shipped.
