Oscar "Pelee" Peterson is among the best known and most widely imitated fish carvers. He began carving fish decoys around 1905 and is credited for creating what is known as the Cadillac style of decoy. A reference to his home town, "Cadillac" also alludes to the quality of craftsmanship, easily distinguished by careful, detailed painting and characteristic gentle curve in each decoy's body.

Original paint with wear to surface from use, oxidation to metal surfaces. damage to back top fin.
