From the Private Collection of Jim and Peggy Cordovano, Greenville, South Carolina and Little Rock, Arkansas Alexander, “The Man Who Knows,” was one of the highest-paid mystics and magicians of the golden age. Born in South Dakota in 1880, he rose to fame during the Vaudeville era, becoming best known for his psychic performances involving fortune telling and mind reading, rather than traditional magic. Often dressed in Eastern-inspired attire, including a turban, Alexander was also credited with introducing electrical elements into magic acts. His life was surrounded by myth and intrigue, and he reinvested much of his wealth into striking posters such as this one for promotion.
Condition A-: Beautiful bright impression with light even toning to the sheet, linen backed.
