Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Late 20th century, rectangular glass top with wrought iron stand and patinated dog head finials, appears unmarked.
20 x 48 x 26 in.
After graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore with a Bachelor of fine art degree, Stockman began his artistic career working as a blacksmith and made custom steel furniture. Now focusing on the formal elements of art, he creates increasingly complex works in metal, fusing the classical with contemporary. He has taught at several prominent craft schools, including the Penland School of Crafts, the John C. Campbell Folk School, the Appalachian Center for Crafts, the New England School of Metalwork, and the Touchstone Center for Crafts.
Dog heads unscrew to allow the glass to detach from the base; glass top with some surface scratches; overall good presentation.
