Republic period (1912-1949), porcelain hand-painted in polychrome enamels and gilt with a myriad of lush flora, bats painted in gold flank the neck of each vase, with an apocryphal Qianlong four character mark in blue to underside of each.

Each 16 in., 9 in. diameter

A single similar vase sold at Bonhams, San Francisco, October 4, 2017, Lot 1544.

Each drilled to underside from former lamp fitting; reign marks distorted by drill holes; with associated small scuff marks; some rubbing with light loss to gilt at rim; kiln firing slips to interior rim of one vase; very slight hairline visible under UV light to one right of one handle; fleabite to one bat's ear.
