Late 19th or early 20th century, a snow lion that is cast standing on four legs at attention, the tail up above its back, its face meant to look ferocious with its mouth open showing its sharp teeth and ears back, pairs of these lions would be placed in front of temple and shrines to ward off the evil spirits from entering.
