Qing dynasty (1644-1912), late 19th century or early 20th century, two paintings, hanging scroll format, ink and colors on silk, each signed to the lower left side 仇英實父 (Qiu Ying Shifu), a red gourd-shaped artist seal beneath, with wooden rollers.
First: Rolled 15 1/2 in., 2 1/2 in. diameter, Hanging 48 1/2 x 15 1/2 in., Sight size 35 1/2 x 13 in., Second: Rolled 25 1/2 x 2 1/2 in. diameter, Hanging 46 1/2 x 22 in., Sight size 37 1/2 x 16 in.
From the Collection of Helen Rindlbacher Ward, and by descent One with two horizontal creases; some scattered areas of reddish coloring to left hand side, some appear to be water spots; the other with even overall light toning to silk; a few darker horizontal lines of toning to silk; some water spots to lower and left side of mount; mount with breaks and damage to top and left hand side; bottom roller unattached to one painting.
