Republic period (1912-1949), each circular porcelain plaque is finely painted in soft famille rose enamels, the first with an elegant lady seated beneath a willow attended by a young boy holding a round fan, the garden enlivened by flowering shrubs and butterflies, and the second with three court ladies in a pavilion playing a game, framed by blossoming branches and rockwork, the figures display refined almond-shaped faces and ornate coiffures, their robes delicately shaded in rose, turquoise, and celadon.
