Kangxi period (1662-1722), porcelain hand painted in underglaze, the two jars with shoulder baluster form, the upper portion with dancing boys alternating with plum blossoms, the lower body with panels of elongated noble ladies within upright lotus panels alternating with blooming upright plum and peony blossoms, each with 玉 (Yù or Jade) mark to underside, with covers.

From the collection of Alice Sophie Everts (von Groening) (1890-1990) and husband Dirk Everts (1890-1928), and by family descent Acquired in the 1920s by Dirk Everts while in the service of the Dutch government in Hong Kong. The collection was subsequently brought to the Netherlands, where it remained in the Everts family and survived the years of Nazi occupation. Thence by family descent.
The "Jade" mark was reserved for the finest porcelains, which were equated with the prized jade hardstone.
One cover is later match with loss to finial and fleabite to rim; one vase with hairline wrapping rim and nicks to foot rim; the other vase with chip to rim and fleabites to finial rim.
