Struck copper, the obverse shows a document reading "OUR CAUSE IS JUST" while the edge reads PAYABLE IN LANCASTER, LONDON, OR BRISTOL. The reverse depicts a triangle of stars, each representing one of the fifteen United States. The top star is stamped "K" for Kentucky, hence the unofficial name given to the tokens.
