Albert Huie was a Jamaican painter and printmaker. He was an early member of the Jamaica School of Art that played a central role in the development of modern Jamaican painting in the mid-twentieth century. Trained in Canada and England, he became known for his portraits, landscapes, and scenes of rural Jamaican life, including depictions of Black Jamaicans that helped redefine national imagery in the years surrounding Jamaica’s independence.

Overall good condition with some slight toning and few foxing marks to the first; not examined out of frames.
