Edo period (1615-1868), 18th or 19th century, a large circular porcelain charger hand painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a central landscape scene depicting figures in a riverside setting, one mounted on horseback accompanied by attendants, set before a mountainous backdrop with a smoking peak, likely Mount Fuji, the cavetto and broad rim elaborately decorated with alternating panels of geometric diaper patterns, stylized wave motifs, and scrolling designs, framing the central reserve, unmarked.

A hairline and large crack with loss on the reverse side to rim; a few more hairlines to rim; green felt to underside of foot; color to underside is more cream than white.
