Mid-20th century, of irregular cylindrical form carved in an imitation of a gnarled tree trunk, the exterior worked in high relief to emphasize swirling knots and naturalistic burl formations, the surface finished in a dark stain or lacquer with warm brown undertones, with an uneven rim following the organic contours of the wood, the flat base shows the natural grain.
