From the Collection of Dian Sanders, New Orleans, Louisiana Mario Villa was a Nicaraguan-born, New Orleans-based artist and designer who produced sleek Neoclassical-inspired furniture with a modern flare. His distinctive designs were highly sought-after and acquired by high-profile clients such as Princess Caroline of Monaco, Kevin Costner, and Carol Burnett. Villa used classical motifs derived from ancient forms, along with inspiration drawn from artists like Matisse and Picasso, applied to his streamlined metal furniture and home wares. He treated metals with muriatic acid to achieve color and patina variation and utilized old-world techniques like sgraffito to enhance material textures.
Overall good usable condition; some very small corner chips to the glass.
