This photograph by Barbara Morgan of the Martha Graham Dance Company is one of a series that is a landmark in the history of photography and dance. Morgan is one of the most important photographers of the twentieth century, and Graham is considered the creator of modern American dance. In Martha Graham: Sixteen Dances in Photographs, Graham says that Morgan successfully "capture(s) the instant of a dance and transform(s) it into a timeless gesture."

Overall good condition; some imperfections within printing; few minor creases and slight curling at edges.
