The pieces by Samuel Hutchinson (active 1828-1839) include a tablespoon (8 3/4 in.); (2) teaspoons; a condiment spoon; and a master salt spoon. All with period "AM" monograms to the handle and "HSM" monograms to the verso dated 1893; this lot also includes a condiment spoon by "S. ?man & Pepper," with MHB monogram for Mary Brinton Thomas; and a teaspoon by Phillip Garret (Philadelphia, circa 1801-1835), with period "ST" monogram.

Mary Brinton Thomas was married to Dr. Isaac Thomas, MD (1797-1897) the grandson of the renowned Pennsylvania clockmaker and cabinet maker Isaac Thomas (1721-1813).
