Meiji period (1868-1912), late 19th century, finely decorated porcelain jardiniere in the Imari palette of iron red, underglaze cobalt blue, and gilt accents, the exterior richly painted with flowering branches, peonies, scrolling foliage, and shaped reserves enclosing floral baskets. Raised on short bracket feet beneath a lappet border.
