A Chinese Export Lacquered and Gilded Tea Caddy

Second half of the 19th century, oblong octagonal form featuring a gilt scene of figures in a courtyard scene to the lid and paneled sides alternating with floral motifs, raised on four paw feet, the interior with two original engraved white metal canisters.

Age cracking, some minor separation a the panel joints, a few areas of flaking and lifting to the lacquer.
