Late 19th century, black lacquered box hand-painted in gold with Chinoiserie landscapes bordered by flowers, symbols, and butterflies, box has a hinged cover that opens to reveal a divided tray with some areas fitted with covers, retaining many original sewing accessories to interior, and a lower drawer with painted interior compartment, raised on four bat over paw form feet, together with a key.
