The L.E. Smith Glass Company, founded in 1907 in Pennsylvania, was a renowned American manufacturer known for Depression glass, milk glass, and, famously, the "Moon and Stars" pattern. They were highly innovative, producing the first Model T headlight lenses before specializing in decorative, handmade, and novelty glassware, often in black amethyst, amberina, and iridescent carnival colors.

Swung glass vases, popular in the 1960s-70s as Mid-Century Modern decor, were made by swinging hot glass, attached to a rod, to stretch it into unique shapes. While still the rage today, the technique originated in 1889 by Bryce Higbee.

Good estate condition.
