David Driskell was an artist, curator, and art historian who played a pivotal role in documenting, preserving, and promoting the work of African American artists throughout his career. In 1976, he organized the landmark exhibition titled Two Centuries of Black American Art at LACMA, a groundbreaking survey that transformed the understanding of Black artistic contributions in America. His paintings, prints, and collages are held in major collections including the National Gallery of Art, The Studio Museum in Harlem, the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, the High Museum of Art, and the Baltimore Museum of Art.
Excellent condition; some spots to matting; not examined out of frame.
