Francesco Scavullo was an American fashion and celebrity photographer best known for his glamorous portraiture that defined the look of magazines and advertising from the 1950s through the 1990s. After studying fashion illustration at Pratt Institute, he had a prolific photography career, creating iconic images for Cosmopolitan, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar, and photographing many of the era's most recognizable actors, musicians, models, and public figures.
