Circa 1900, taller chair: triple panel relief carved back, unusual fan shaped plank seat, conforming stretcher base raised on six legs (38 x 25 x 16., seat height 20.5 in.), shorter chair: with all over red lacquer, curved panel back, plank, pierced carved and gilt skirt, raised on rounded legs with stretcher base (31.5 x 21 x 15.5 in., seat height 15.5 in.)
Tall chair: loss to lacquer, old chip and loss to front edge of seat, insect damage, short chair: later panel to seat; insect damage, later foot returns
