Possibly Edo period, hand painted paper mounted on silk with gold leaf, likely depicting a scene from The Tale of Genji, black lacquered frame with brass mounts, the far left panel is signed with a four character inscription above a red artist's seal, loose backing paper on the verso reveals Japanese calligraphy.

Folded 53.25 x 18.25 x 4.5 in., each panel 53.25 x 18.25 x 0.75 in.; expanded 108 x 53.25 x 0.75 in.
