A Chinese Carved Marble Head of Guanyin

Carved from creamy white marble, the bodhisattva depicted with a serene downcast expression beneath an elaborate high crown ornamented with floral, jewel and cloud motifs, the hair and headdress falling to either side of the face, rests in a custom fitted carved wood base.

DOA 13 1/2 x 9 x 5 1/2 in., Head only 10 x 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 in.

Very good estate condition; some scattered nicks; crack to wood stand running horizontal across the front.
