A Japanese Satsuma Jar with Cover

Meiji or Taisho period, early 20th century, lemon yellow shaped reserves to both sides with beautifully painted birds flying amidst blooming flowers, outside ground and cover with elaborate gilt outlined brocade decoration, the cover has a key border and a small flower with vertical ring, underside of cover with a sweet white peony blossom, unmarked.

Good estate condition; large repair to jar; some repairs to ring finial.
