Qing dynasty (1644-1912), circa 1900 or earlier, Ming style, appear to be
huanghuali, with serpentine rectangular splat flanked by curved rounded stiles above a rectangular seat inset with rattan on molded shaped legs joined by box stretchers.

Overall good estate condition; refinished; woven seats with some rubbing and wear; seats with some tight seam separations around the panel (but stable); one chair with crest rail repaired where the back splat joins the rail; seat reset; a break to underside middle support wood is cracked and out of the grove; both chairs have had the shaped moldings reattached; one chair with front shaped molding edges with small loss.
