Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, the first panel embroidered in roundel format with silver and gold metallic wrapped thread featuring a frontal facing five claw imperial dragon against a blue silk ground, now dark lavender from fading, and a panel embroidered with polychrome silk and gold metallic wrapped thread featuring a serpentine dragon chasing a flaming pearl resembling the ninth dragon that would decorate the interior of a court robe.
Frame dimensions 19 1/4 x 19 1/4 x 1/2 in.
Embroidery on both panels in excellent condition; silk ground on roundel has significantly faded in color with some spots of wear; not examined outside of the frames.
